Former Fulham striker Geoff Horsfield is poised to join fierce rivals Sheffield Wednesday on a free transfer.
Horsfield has been told he can leave the Blades by manager Kevin Blackwell and the Owls have moved quickly to secure the services of the former Birmingham, Fulham and West Brom star.
Owls manager Brian Laws is a big fan of Horsfield's and reckons his experience will help his side challenge for promotion next season.
Horsfield has agreed personal terms and is expected to undergo a medical in the next 24 hours. He joined the Blades in a £1.2m deal in May 2006 but was restricted to just four appearances and had loan spells with Leeds, Leicester and Scunthorpe.
